What does the MAUREL Group do?

Gaëtan MAUREL: Groupe Maurel Transports is a family-run business specializing in the road transport of bulk and packaged goods. Based in Montans (Tarn), we operate mainly in Occitania and the south of France. With 300 vehicles and 270 employees on 5 sites, our group offers tippers, tankers, tautliners, flatbeds, crane carriers and outsourced logistics to meet a wide range of needs.

Why did you choose TRUCKONLINE?

GM: We were looking for an on-board IT solution that was more ergonomic than the one we were using before. Information is essential, but it has to be structured and used in a way that adds value. This is exactly what TRUCKONLINE offers. The aim is not to accumulate data, but to have the right indicators to effectively manage our business. We needed a reliable system, integrating geolocation, time management and appropriate HR support. What's more, human relations were a key factor in our choice.

What do you mean by that?

GM: I met Yann Mercuri, Sales and Operations Director, in 2016, and from the very first exchanges with him and the TRUCKONLINE teams, a climate of trust was quickly established, an essential element in the choice of a partner. This partnership has proved to be a wise one: we have noted the effectiveness of their solutions, as well as their great scalability, thanks to regular updates that have accompanied our development over the years.

What has this changed for the MAUREL Group?

GM: Eco-driving has become a very important aspect for us, as it helps us to reduce variable costs, especially fuel consumption. It's an effective tool for saving money. It has a real day-to-day impact, both for drivers on the road and for administrative organization at the office.

What feedback do you get from your drivers?

GM: The driver app is very much appreciated by drivers, whether as a steering tool or for managing their time and organization. It enables them to track driving times and fuel fill-ups, while promoting eco-driving, reducing paperwork by sending attachments (PDF scans, files) and improving communication with the company.

Do you use the La Bonne Prépaie service?

GM: It's a simplification of our day-to-day work that affects all strata: the driver for his hours and expenses, the operator who validates, and the payroll manager who closes. With La Bonne Prépaieeverything is more transparent, rigorous and flexible in terms of data processing.

A final word?

GM: As soon as we have a question, they're there to answer it. That's not a detail, because we need partners who can give us quick answers. Too often, in every field, service providers sell you equipment or technical solutions, then disappear as soon as a problem arises. Let's face it: we don't have the time to spend hours on the phone. For me, the human aspect is paramount. It's a real comfort. What's more, these are teams who know our businesses, their challenges and problems, and who have a perfect command of their products.
