What does Truckservices 38 do?
Cédric PETIT: We have several. We install and commission on-board computer products. We also offer a mechanical and maintenance service for trucks, buses and light commercial vehicles. Finally, since 2021, we have been carrying out regulatory checks on tachograph installations.
How do I become a TRUCKONLINE installer?
CP: We started at the same time, just a few months apart, in 2011. They were just starting to develop the TruckBox, and I was setting up my own business. They needed an installer, and since we knew each other, they called on me for the first tests of the box. It was exciting because, in addition to the novelty and the installation, by being out in the field, in direct contact with the companies, I was able to provide them with information and feedback to help them develop their solution. From the outset, the TRUCKONLINE teams have been very attentive to those who use their products, in order to improve and offer new functionalities. It's an exciting adventure. What's more, my role as installer isn't limited to fitting the TruckBoxes.
What do you mean by that?
CP: I'm an installer, but I'm also there to help TRUCKONLINE customers get to grips with the equipment. I explain how the equipment works. I may have to train employees to remove and install the TrucKBox when vehicles need to be changed, so that they can be as self-sufficient as possible. I also provide after-sales service, but this is very rare, as the equipment is extremely reliable!
Have you seen this reliability over the years?
CP: Yes, I have a lot of experience with this type of technology. I wouldn't be able to say how many TruckBoxes I've installed, but it's in the thousands. On average, I install a hundred a month, and at certain times I can install up to 250. It's a very reliable device, despite the fact that it can be subjected to vibrations, temperature variations or electric shocks when you use a booster for starting.
What's the overall feedback from customers?
CP: The feedback is unanimous. The solutions offered by TRUCKONLINE work very well and make everyday life easier. Many emphasize that the tools and services are easy to use and very intuitive.
Are you an intermediary in the field?
CP: I go all over France, and even as far as Mayotte, so I try. My role goes beyond that of a simple service provider. As a true partner, I like to pass on the information gathered in the field to TRUCKONLINE. They have a special relationship with their customers and are very attentive to their needs. I make sure to pass on other information, particularly on technological developments in vehicles, to help them continue to develop their solutions.
What do you think of TRUCKONLINE's equipment and services?
CP: I've been immersed in on-board IT since 2008, and it's clearly changed a lot of things for operators. It makes their day-to-day fleet management easier, especially when it comes to collecting legal data. Security and automation simplify their organization. It's a support system for transport companies. It's a relief for them, because this is a fast-moving sector.
Any final words?
CP: I've been with TRUCKONLINE from the outset, and I'm still proud of it today, which testifies to the quality and longevity of our partnership.
